INNOVATIONS IN TEACHING

Multiple Interactive Learning Algorithm (MILA)

MILA is a method that actively engages the students in activities and enhances the learning of a concept/topic. The total duration of the class would be 120 minutes. The class is divided into 6 micro sessions lasting for 20 minutes each. The topic for the day is divided into 3 parts of a brief overview followed by 3 parts of activities after every overview. The idea is to facilitate the students in learning by making them find out more about a topic and not actually lecturing about the topic. Different types of activities are given as a part of MILA learning.

Activities in MILA

CLAY MODELLING

Students using clay modelling as an activity in the class to understand oral diseases better

SMALL GROUP LEARNING

Students are split into small groups to enable them to work together in finding a solution. A faculty will also engage in facilitating the students in learning the concept.

MOSAIC TILES

An interactive activity used for teaching correlation of clinical with radiographic features of a particular disease

DIY - X RAYS

An interesting activity used for teaching the characteristic radiographic appearances of certain diseases

PEARLS OF WISDOM

An interesting activity used for teaching the physics of radiation such as the structure of an atom

CONNEXIONS
